JCube

Capitaland Jurong East Central Condo is a new development in the Jurong East district of Singapore. It was previously called Jurong Entertainment Centre. This development is home to a world-class IMAX theatre and the first Olympic-size ice rink in the suburbs.

Although the JCube is currently open for business, CLD is considering turning the site into a residential building. The company is facing stiff competition from nearby shopping malls as well as a high demand for residential units in the area. According to Seshan Ramaswami, associate professor of marketing education at the Singapore Management University, the company intends to create a new property with higher floor space than JCube, resulting in a plot ratio of 4.2. The current plot ratio of the mall is 3.0.

A recent survey suggests that demand for residential property in Jurong East is strong. Its proximity to the MRT and bus interchanges make it a convenient option for commuters. The location is also convenient for those who want to enjoy the many entertainment facilities available. A nearby ice rink, an IMAX cinema, and an art gallery all add to the appeal. Besides, JCube has the potential to become a mixed-use development.
