Almost making a point of being abstract and arcane, The Knife took on yet more esoteric territory last year by writing its first electro opera and libretto. Entitled Tomorrow, In A Year, the piece was inspired by Darwin’s On The Origin Of Species and put on by Danish performance troop Hotel Pro Forma. Its soundtrack saw the Dreijer siblings team up with Mt Sims and Planningtorock for an ominous sound that spanned electronica, pop and classical opera. If that heavy stuff is totally up your alley, do note that the studio version of Tomorrow, In A Year should be hitting record stores pretty soon. Meantime, get comfortable with this preview.
