Finally, a documentary that sheds light on the world of techno. Speaking in Code sees director Amy Miller painting a lighthearted and passionate picture of Berlin’s emerging names in techno, trailing the likes of Modeselektor, Monolake, Philip Sherburne and Wighnomy Brothers as they perform their duty to dance. Also featured are Ellen Allien, Wolfgang Voigt, Miss Kittin, Apparat, Smartypants, Tobias Thomas, amongst other techno figureheads. Put together, it’s an intimate study of the people who live for techno and who techno for life. The DVD is out now (get it here) and will also include special features like Modeselektor’s Sonar performance in 2007 and a tour of the Kompakt Records store.
