Jónsi – Go

Posted February 12th, 2010 at 11:47 am by JUICE

Jónsi is turning out to be the Jack White/Josh Homme of Icelandic pop, or something. After taking time off Sigur Rós for Riceboy Sleeps last year, he’s now taking time off all that to fly solo. As Jónsi, himself, he’s making a fearlessly dramatic and exhilarating sound – in English, no less. Progressive pop lines his debut record, Go, which also sees contributions from names like Nico Muhly and Samuli Kosminen, who bring big band arrangements and offbeat percussion respectively. And naturally, Jónsi’s voice and versatility is also impressive on this.
