Dr. Martens Holiday ’11
by JUICE on Friday, 11th November 2011
What happens when street meets luxury? Well, looks like it’ll result in something like Dr. Martens’ Holiday ’11 collection, with the punk silhouette of DMs studded with Swarovski Elements bling. If you’re more of a feminine rocker, the Zita 10-eye boot, with its elevated heels decorated with Swarovsky crystals, will be right up your alley but there’s no doubt the revamped classics like its 3-eye boots will be the stars of the show. Even the packaging’s gone luxe, with a unique all-black shoe box and an embroiderd velvet shoe bag housing the precious kicks. And yes, these babies are limited edition!
The Dr. Martens Holiday ’11 collection will be available exclusively at its Wheelock Place shop from December 16 onwards.
A Bird of II Feathers by Mimipong
by JUICE on Monday, 31st October 2011
A reversible carry-all that transforms into either a cygnet or a swan (basically chronicling the life cycle of the winged rarity), this bag conceptualised and designed by local label Mimipong is a simple and quirky arm statement. According to Mimipong’s designer Michelle Lin, it took her a year and ten prototypes before this bag saw the light of day, and on top of that this bag’s produced in limited quantities so be quick about it.

Available at www.mimipong.com/shop.
Maison Kitsuné Fall/Winter ’11
by JUICE on Sunday, 30th October 2011
Americana remains on the Kitsuné moodboard this Fall/Winter, with the French label taking on two separate universes for its men’s and women’s line. The ladies’ range is a walk down New York’s Madison Avenue in the ‘60s, which means a smart and slick looking set of silhouettes, marked by neutral hues and standout outerwear. Men-wise, Kitsuné looks to West America of the ‘60s – the one ably captured in Ang Lee’s Brokeback Mountain – in a clever balance of the rugged and the sartorial in denim and tweed jackets, plaid shirts and heavy knits. Go USA!
Henry Holland for Le Specs
by JUICE on Saturday, 29th October 2011
You may or may not know Le Specs, but surely you must be familiar with Henry “Do Me In The Park Marc” Holland. Also known as Agyness Deyn’s BFF, Henry Holland has teamed up with the Australian eyewear label Le Specs to create something infused with a nice dose of pop culture. The surprisingly affordable collaboration have got some cool styles in the mix – check out the “Lennon”, which is well, Lennon-esque spherical frames given a colourful update and the irreverent “Hoodies”, which are basically aviators with an extra brim.
Available exclusively at Actually…, 29A Seah Street.
Mister Accessories
by JUICE on Tuesday, 25th October 2011
Accessories for men have come a long way baby, and we’re not talking about timewear here. Fashion statements on masculine hands have been an uprising trend since a few seasons ago, and if you want a piece of the action, do check out Mister, a San Fran-based label. The latest additions to its family include a matte beaded bracelet with a raw crystal in its midst, the organic aesthetic of the crystal providing a nice contrast to the black beads. We bet this would go well with everything including your PJs.

Boy by Band of Outsiders F/W ’11
by JUICE on Monday, 17th October 2011
Inspired by The Breakfast Club’s misunderstood protagonist Ally Sheedy, Band of Outsider’s F/W lookbook is a hazy ’80s looking pictorial modeled by Spanish actress Elena Anaya. The Boy by Band of Outsiders, FYI, channels the tomboy aesthetic and there’s a whole lot of that going on this season with crisp suits and sharp tailoring. Whoever said you can’t do class in suits?

Dr. Martens Autumn/Winter ’11 Broken In Collection
by JUICE on Sunday, 2nd October 2011
Of the many questions that plague our daily existence, there’s the enduring one that goes, “How do I break in a pair of Dr. Martens?” More than three million people have put that question to Google and while you can try fire and freeze on them boots, let’s just leave it to the professionals, eh? The Doc has just the solution to season those soles via its multi-step wearing-in process that softens the leather, burs the heel and creases your boots in all the right places. The results are all over its latest Autumn/Winter Broken In collection, where its iconic 1460 8-Eye boot arrives new, but with the appearance of having already been well loved and lived-in. Ah, the perfect fit.
Available at Dr. Martens stores at Wheelock Place, #02-17, T: 6737 6278, and Orchard Central, #03-05, T: 6884 7578.
Issey Miyake Watch Project
by JUICE on Saturday, 1st October 2011
When the Issey Miyake Watch Project was conceptualised a decade ago, way before collaborations was a popular fashion dictionary entry, it was considered a dream pairing between Seiko and Issey Miyake. It wasn’t hard to see why – with Seiko providing the non-design aspects from development to sales, the famed Japanese label had plenty of room to bounce around ideas in, together with a pool of distinguished designers across various fields. There was only one caveat for the designers – their designs had to be their interpretations of the Issey Miyake DNA; an unadulterated look driven by technical precision and behind it all, an experimental concept that works beautifully.

To celebrate the collaboration’s ten anniversary, Tokujin Yoshioka has sculpted his design from what looks like a block of ice. Named simply “O” (after eau, which is French for water), it’s a classy and surreal stunner that’s a fitting tribute to the past great years, and of course, a great start to more decades ahead.
Plectrum by Ben Sherman Autumn/Winter ’11
by JUICE on Friday, 30th September 2011This season, Plectrum by Ben Sherman ain’t just any ol’ Englishman, but an Englishman in New York – yup, he’s that well-travelled. Accompanying the man will be silhouettes informed by a mix of old English and military influences, as well as a contemporary textures and fabrics. Besides a serving of nice-looking shirts, alternately plaid and gingham-crafted, colour-blocked, and doused in autumnal shades, the collection’s highlights include its knitwear bag of tweeds and long-line cardigans, as well as statement outerwear like the iconic duck-down Parka. And if you’ll look closely enough, you’ll also note that these new pieces come trimmed by dynamic details like twill linings, flamboyant checks and leather piping. With that also comes the launch of Ben Sherman’s EC1 Chino, the quintessential wardrobe item now being offered by big Ben in three different styles and 12 colours – all of them crisp enough to match your quality shirting. If clothes maketh the man, then consider this gentleman made.
Ben Sherman is located at Paragon, #03-48, T: 6836 8467.
