Danilo Plessow has been making genuine headway into underground house and beyond, armed to the teeth with some mean DJ and remix skills. Totally left field, he, as Motor City Drum Ensemble, has boldly melded a retrospective house sound with a Detroit spin, as well as hints of soul and disco. The results of that mix-and-match can be found on his awesome Raw Cuts series, in his deep and hypnotic manner of DJ-ing, and in the props he’s scored off Gilles Peterson, Karizma, Dixon, et al. Zouk, you’re in for a treat.
